Iran has launched dozens of drones from the west of the country, which are currently headed toward Israel, Hebrew and Iranian media confirmed late on April 13.

Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) Spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed that dozens of drones launched from Iran are heading toward Israel, Channel 13 reported.

Hagari said the Israeli Air Force is tracking the drones across Iraq and Syria, while adding that they will take several hours to reach the country.

The IDF spokesperson said in Hebrew that there will be hours of GPS disruptions in the country.

Following the sound of drones over the north and south of Iraq, the government in Baghdad announced it was placing the country’s radar on high alert.

Meanwhile, Israeli Axios reporter Barak Ravid wrote in a tweet: “Four American and Israeli officials told me that Iran attacked Israel with dozens of drones.”

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a recorded message that defence systems are prepared and ready for any scenario, "defence or attack."

Following the drone launch, a pair of El Al flights to Tel Aviv from Thailand have turned back to Israel, The Times of Israel reported.

Israeli’s Channel 13 covered the videos purported to have come out of Iraq, noting the launch from Iran.

Iran’s Press TV has also shown the same videos from Iraq. Iran has not officially said it launched the attack and is now reporting Israeli reports of the launch.
