Uzbekistan raises minimum wholesale and retail prices for alcohol

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Economy and Finance Sherzod Kudbiev has approved new minimum prices for alcoholic beverages.

Minimum wholesale prices for alcoholic beverages are to be raised by an average of 20%, while the average retail price hike will be 16%. The new rates will come into effect on June 1.

The announced increases are the first to be applied since 2021. In that year, the prices were raised twice, in March and December.

Prior to 2021, the minimum prices were increased almost every year.
