Czech companies Prusa Research and Kiwi.com are among the top 5 fastest-growing technology companies in Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). Overall, seven Czech companies ranked in the 2018 Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, CzechCrunch.cz reported on September 24

Czech developer and manufacturer of 3D printers Prusa Research ended up third with a revenue growth of 17,122% between 2014 and 2017, and Brno-based start-up, which offers complex travel agency services Kiwi.com ranked fifth with a revenue growth of 14,380% during the past four years.

Other Czech company Pilulka Distribuce placed 59th, Proficio Marketing 84th, ZOOT 185th, Creative Dock 406th and IDEA StatiCa 424th. The fastest-growing company in the region is Swedish Strossle International AB (19,900%), followed by EMFA Yazılım Danismanlik from Turkey (19,381%)

“It only took a few years for Prusa Research to become one of the most innovative and growing companies of the 3D printing industry. Moreover, without any external investments. They managed to jump in the new wave of 3D printing in time and used it for its own good. Thanks to that they’ve achieved meteoric rise and quickly expanded worldwide,” commented Senior Manager at Deloitte Katerina Novotna, adding that Prusa Research is well set to be the global leader in 3D printing.

In June, Kiwi.com was acquired by New York based investment fund General Atlantic. It bought a majority stake of nearly 51% in the highly successful start-up founded in 2012. The company formerly sold only flight tickets from non-cooperating airlines, however, lately, it changed its strategy and started offering complex travel agency services to consumers. The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. According to several sources, the stake was valued at CZK3bn (€116.5mn), which made Kiwi.com worth more than CZK5bn (€193.3mn).

According to Deloitte, the program is supported by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 initiatives. The 2018 Central European edition was dominated by Czech companies. Prusa Research became the fastest-growing technology company in the region (17,118% growth year-on-year), followed by Kiwi.com (2nd, 14,377%) and Pilulka Distribuce (5th, 1,681%). Back then, Director of the Technology Fast 50 CE Jiri Sauer stated that such results will guarantee top positions for the companies in the EMEA round of Fast 500.
