The average monthly gross wage in Slovenia amounted to €1,728 in May, up by a real 2.5% y/y, after rising 2.3% y/y in the previous month, the statistics office said on July 15.
As wage pressures grow in Slovenia, compensation per employee is expected to increase by 4.8% in 2019 and 3.7% in 2020.
In nominal terms the gross wage went up 3.9% y/y.
The gross salaries were the highest in financial and insurance activities in May.
The net wage in Slovenia totalled €1,119 in May, up by a real 2% y/y and by 3.4% y/y in nominal terms, the statistics office said.
In monthly terms, average gross earnings edged down 0.1% in nominal terms and fell by a real 1%.
Compared to earnings for April, average net earnings in May increased the most in water supply, sewerage and waste management (by 5.4%) and decreased the most in wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles (by 1.9%).
